Andreas Willers, Frank Paul Schubert and Rudi Fischerlehner formed
this trio after different collaborations within the Berlin scene
and - in an open process of experimentation annd development - reached
a very personal band sound that can hardly be described as ‚jazz‘
anymore.
Through
creative and anarchic umgang with their vocabulary the musicians
almost elude the impression to move into a non-idiomatic realm:
scenes may be reminiscent of rock, jazz or electronic styles, but
are nonetheless floating in a non-repetitive rubatoish condition,
melodic lines by the saxophone are being endangered by noise-guitars
just to melt into innovative sound collages. A strong focus on counterpoint
and connected textures almost completely erodes the classification
in soloists and acompanyists.
You
won‘t be suprised by this wealth of input once you follow
the biographic roots of the three musicians through a rhizom of
Jazz, free improv, Neue Musik, drum&bass, independent Rock and
Noise.
The
result is a music full of suspense, depth and wit.

Andreas Willers - git
begann als Blues- und Avantgardegitarrist, erste Veröffentlichung
1981 auf dem Label FMP (Hier & Als Auch, Gitarre Solo), studierte
E-Gitarre und Komposition in Los Angeles, Hamburg und Banff (Canada),
hat gespielt und/oder aufgenommen mit Paul Bley, Louis Sclavis,
Enrico Rava, Bob Stewart, Marvin Smitty Smith, Dave Liebman, Trilok
Gurtu, David Murray, Mark Dresser, Bobby Previte, Mark Feldman,
Jim Black, Steve Argüelles, Dominique Pifarély, Marc
Ducret, Anders Jormin, Tom Rainey, Phil Haynes, Lauren Newton, Rita

Frank Paul Schubert - sax
absolvierte ein „klassisches“ Saxophonstudium an der
Musikhochschule Aachen bei Hugo Read und setzte sich intensiv mit
indischen Improvisationsmodellen und Neuer Musik auseinander. Nach
dem Studium war er einige Jahre im Raum Frankfurt/ Main aktiv (Zusammenarbeit
u.a. mit Burkard Kunkel, Martin LeJeune, Sebastian Merk, Russ Spiegel,
etc).
Er spielte als Mitglied unterschiedlicher Formationen auf diversen
Jazzfestivals, u.a. in Moers (’92), Leipzig (’93), Düsseldorf
(’95/96), Frankfurt/ Main (Museumsuferfest ’98), Eberswalde
(2000), Worms (2000) und Danzig/ Polen (’05).
Lebt seit Oktober 1999 in Berlin.
Im Herbst 2001 erschien die CD „Frank Paul Schubert Quartett:
Der Verkauf geht weiter“ (JazzHausMusik/Köln; JHM 114)
mit Franz Bauer (vib), Johannes Gunkel (b) und Sebastian Merk (dm),
die auf Einladung des Goethe-Instituts auch in Lyon/ Frankreich
vorgestellt wurde.
2002 begann die feste Zusammenarbeit mit dem Pianisten und Komponisten
Antonis Anissegos (CD: „Phoobsering“ KONNEX/ Berlin
kcd 5157, erschienen Juni 2005).
Weitere Projekte (seit 2000) sind: ein Duo mit dem Hamburger Schlagzeuger
Björn Lücker, das Trio Fremble des Schlagzeugers Berthold
Möller, das Quartett mit dem Kölner Mundharmonikaspieler
und Komponisten Matthias Broede, (mit Kalle Kalima, Gitarre, und
Oliver Potratz, Bass), und das Duo mit dem Bassethorn-Spieler Burkard
Kunkel.
Rudi Fischerlehner - dr, perc
1977 in Oberösterreich geboren, studiert 1991/92 klassisches
Schlagwerk in Linz, wendet sich dann aber entschieden der dortigen
Jazz- und independent Szene zu und spielt mit verschiedenen Bands.
Übersiedelt 1995 nach Wien, mehrere Veröffentlichungen
mit Roh und Blendwerk, Tourneen in
Österreich, Italien, Deutschland und der Schweiz, gründet
das Jazzquartett Chaos in order und nimmt mit dem Trio Kontext um
den Gitarristen/Komponisten Daniel Pabst zwei CDs auf. Konzert-Live-Übertragung
aus dem Wiener Radiokulturhaus auf Radio Ö1.
Lebt seit 2002 hauptsächlich in Berlin, gründet Pinx
und spielt bei Odd Shot.
2004 Reise nach Mozambique, Zimbabwe und Südafrika.
Gründet 2005 das Label Farai-Records,
erste Veröffentlichung ist die Debut CD von Pinx.
New York City von September 05 bis Januar 06.
